is what I WISH I knew,
for she GROWLED at me,
BUT she didn't GROWL at you?
Who let our secret slip,
from her wagging tongue,
about the games we played,
when we were very young?
Did you pick up the bag,
and turn it

side
d o w n,
so she'd
land
on her feet,
when she HIT the ground?
Who let the cat out of the bag,
is what I WISH I knew,
for she GROWLED at me,
from out of the blue?
No one would be the wiser.
about the things we did,
playing nurse and doctor,
when we were little kids -
if you'd just let her sleep,
contented by the fire,
in her favorite bag,
h a n g i n g
from a wire.

Who let 'the proverbial cat' out of the bag - both figuratively and literally - is what
I'd really like to know, indeed - but for now I'll let sleeping dogs (and cats) lie
down and say that curiosity didn't kill us - like it has been said to do for many a
curious feline - but quite to the contrary- it made us feel very much alive - and it
still does to this very day.
